The AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students program provides awards to minority accounting doctoral candidates who show significant potential to earn a Ph.D. in accounting. Fellowship funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation through the contributions of members, professional services firms and others.
All applicants must submit a completed scholarship application by April 1, 2014 at 11:59 p m EST. The application process is completed in two rounds. Applicants selected to advance to the second round will be notified via email by May 1, 2014. Round 2 applicants must provide additional documentation once notified of advancement (See “Round 2 Application Materials” below.)
Applicants may save his/her application and make changes up to April 1, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Once the applicant clicks the “submit application” button, no further changes can be made. Incomplete applications will not be accepted for review by the AICPA.

Applicants are evaluated based on academic and professional achievement, commitment towards completing an accounting doctoral degree and financial need. Considerable weight will be given to applicants who are CPAs and/or AICPA members, and those who perform AICPA committee service. Applicants will be notified of final selection by July 15, 2014.
Payment and Renewals:
$12,000 per academic year distributed in two installment payments. Awards are made for a single academic year and are renewable for a total of five years, based on student’s satisfactory progress and financial need as a full-time student.
