Frequently Asked Questions
If I am graduating in spring/summer 2014, may I still attend the workshop? Yes. This is an ideal program for recent accounting graduates. This workshop benefits attendees by strengthening networking and communication skills to prepare workplace leaders.
If I have attended a past ASLW, may I come back? To enable as many students as possible to have this experience, students who have attended a previous workshop may not attend.
What if I have another obligation (class, work) at the same time as the workshop and still want to attend? Students are required to attend the workshop for the full two days. If needed, the AICPA will provide your employer or teacher with information regarding the content and benefit of your participation in this program.
May I attend if I am already a CPA? No, those persons who are already CPAs are not eligible to attend as participants. However, CPAs interested in serving as program volunteers for the workshop may contact email@example.com.
How will I know if my application is accepted? A selection task force will review completed applications and many students will learn of a decision prior to the April 1 deadline, as the committee utilizes a rolling acceptance application process. Seats are filled on a first come, first served basis, therefore your early application submission is encouraged.
Attendee selection is based on academic achievement; demonstration of leadership and volunteerism; and overall commitment to becoming a licensed CPA professional. All selected candidates will be advised via email on or before May 1, 2014.
